About This Initiative

A community kitchen and food distribution initiative that began as a simple act of neighborly solidarity — encouraging people to share available food, cook collectively, and support one another when markets closed and resources disappeared. Today it is an organized effort reaching thousands across the Kordofan region.

When war broke out in Sudan, El Obeid — the capital of North Kordofan — faced severe humanitarian pressures. Markets shut, livelihoods collapsed, and tens of thousands of displaced people flooded into the city. Ayadi Al-Khair emerged from within the community to meet this need.

Who Runs It

The initiative is operated by a volunteer network led by Samah Mohamed Ali, reaching internally displaced persons from Al-Khuwei, Al-Nuhud, Kazgeil, Al-Dibibat, Al-Hammadi, Bara, and surrounding areas.
